Outside of the AI effects library, you can write your own custom prompts from scratch. Or, start with a short description and let the AI-generated “Expand Prompt” feature write the prompt for you.

As an alternative to using text, you can upload a reference image to generate the prompt instead.

You can also write prompts using your favorite chatbot, such as ChatGPT or Claude, and then paste the final result in the AI effect generator.

Prompts can include up to 10k characters, so you have a lot of room to create an environment, set the lighting, and even choose the camera quality.

After creating your prompt, easily test it out using one of the available stock images or by uploading your own. Once you’re satisfied with the results, you can save the generated image as the effect preview.

How to setup your fall or holiday photo booth backgrounds

You can set this up from either the Simple Booth dashboard on a computer or the Simple Booth HALO app on your iPad—your presets sync across both.

1. Save the backgrounds you like by right-clicking and choosing “Save Image As.”
2. Create a new Simple Booth account or sign in to your existing one.
3. Go to the Presets tab and create (or open) a preset for your fall or holiday event.
4. Locate the Background Replacement panel and choose green screen, blue screen, or virtual, depending on whether you have a physical backdrop.
5. Upload your favorite background images for your guests to choose from.
6. Make sure Background Replacement is toggled on and your uploaded images are showing.
7. That’s it! Launch your booth and you’re ready to party.

The show itself was fantastic, but the highlight for our team came on Tuesday night, when we threw a party for everyone involved, filling up the entire South Point Showroom in the process.

We went all in

Simple Booth hosted and planned the entire party. Our team selected the space, set up HALOs all around, brought the DJ and set the vibe to have a good time with open bar all night.

We wanted to help everyone let loose after a long week of talking and walking at the conference and trade show floor.

And it was a great night!

Live Feed was the real winner

One of the highlights of the party was our Live Feed broadcast from the four HALO booths that we had set up around the showroom. It was displayed on a massive LED wall behind the DJ with real-time HALO photos as they were taken, showing off exactly what our product can do.

Our guest felt like rock stars

Everyone kept taking photos and loved seeing their faces appear on the screen. And when you see yourself up there, you have to take a picture of that, too, which people were doing constantly. Doing Live Feed right can create a never-ending, viral photo loop!

Many people associate green screen with Hollywood movies, but now you don’t need to have a blockbuster budget to join in on the fun. All you need is HALO and a green backdrop!

Getting started with green screen

First, you need to find a high quality green screen backdrop. There are many choices for inexpensive green backdrops online that you can use and we also offer a green screen kit available for sale from Simple Booth. For the best results, find a green screen that is wrinkle-resistant and large enough for group photos of 3-5 people. For more details on finding a green screen backdrop, read our complete green screen tutorial.

Next, you need some digital backgrounds! You can find many free images on websites such as Unsplash and Pexels, or you can purchase images from one of the many popular stock photo websites.

Finally, photo booth users can choose one of the backgrounds and it will be superimposed behind them on the photos they take. Your participants can even see a preview in real-time to get creative and have more fun!

If you’ve used many photo booth softwares before, you know that all the layout design is centered around the print. You start with a paper size and then individually place all the photo coordinates. The prints always look good, but it doesn’t translate well to social media.

Simple Booth takes a different approach from conventional photo booth software. We make mobile apps that put user experience above all else and part of that is creating a mobile first experience where the photos are optimized for digital, social sharing and viewing on your phone.

When designing your Simple Booth layout or GIF, you’re choosing how it will look on a phone or desktop computer. After that, it is resized and positioned on your paper for the print.

This is great most of the time, but sometimes it can be difficult to get the print just right. Depending on the layout, it might not fill the whole sheet and leave extra white space on each side. For some customers, this is a big deal. We want it to be easy for people to fill the print without having to play the game of trial and error.

Instead of forcing our users to either create a separate print design and a separate digital design, we choose to think outside the box. Today we are proud to say that you can have your digital photos and prints both look great. We developed a creative new feature that can make any layout fill the entire photo print and look perfect on your phone!

It’s called Force Fit. It works by cropping the individual photos in your layout to the right aspect ratio to fill the print. To avoid cutting off faces though, it uses a facial detection algorithm to find the optimal crop position. It works on tall photo strips, 4×4 square layouts, and everything in between.
